Ohio Building Code Consultants, LLC was established on October 1, 2004 by Leonard R. Lewis with an objective to provide competent, reliable building department services.

OBCC combines over 30 years of field experience in residential and commercial construction, code enforcement, and continuing code education.

Leonard R. Lewis, PRESIDENT
A highly motivated quality-driven professional, Leonard worked for more than 15 years in a variety of residential and commercial construction, gaining valuable hands-on experience and insight that has served him well for over 16 years as a code enforcement official.
Experience
Leonard served as Building Regulations Administrator for the City of Pickerington, Ohio for 9 years. During that time he contributed significantly to the development and certification of the building department, twice lowering the community ISO rating.

The ISO rating for your community is a risk measurement based on a variety of factors, including the experience level, record-keeping, hours of continuing education and efficiency of your local building department.
A lower ISO rating may have a positive affect on your community’s homeowners insurance rates.

Communication
The importance of good communication in code enforcement cannot be understated, and Leonard’s experience in facilitating code education classes allows him to express ideas and concerns effectively. He has instructed National Electrical Code recertification and Associated Electrical Contractors apprenticeship courses.

Leonard is constantly improving his own education through professional memberships and training seminars. He mainitains strong relationships with other industry professionals and area municipal building departments.
